Hi there. I’m glad you downloaded this cheat sheet to blue light. I’m going to make this as short and straight to the point as possible and not get too deep into light and how it either hurts or helps your health.
But I would bet any amount of money that the kind of light you’re letting into your life right now is hurting your health and not helping it. Even ruining health gains from any diet you might be on.

First, a little bit about blue light and why you want to block it.
Blue light can be good or bad. In today’s fake light lit world, it’s mostly bad.
Why?
Well, blue light exists in nature. It’s found mostly in daytime sunlight and it does fantastic things for you like making you happy, alert and able to run from tigers or hunt for food as well as triggering and optimizing your hormones.
But…..
Blue light is always balanced by red light in nature. So wherever there is blue, you also have red.
Blue light is high powered and stimulatory. Red light is lower on the power scale and very regenerative or restorative. Red light kind of allows blue to do its thing without hurting you!
So can you guess what the big problem is?
The light from your smartphone and energy saving LED light bulbs and flat screen tvs and computers and fluorescent office lights and car headlights and whatever else that’s escaping my mind at the moment I type this is made of mostly blue light with very little IF ANY red light!!! Look at this picture below See how the spectrum of real sunlight is smoothed out and filled in? See how the spectrum of fake lights like LED’s and CFL’s are spiked, uneven and have large gaps? It might not make any difference to you, but it does to your body and brain. Think of the uneven spectrum of fake light as missing key nutrients your body needs to function properly. When it doesn’t get this full spectrum of light, bad things happen.
Light manufacturers originally subtracted the red light (among other frequencies) in order to save money and have more efficient lights that “waste” less energy. But they never checked on whether that would be good or bad for your health! I’m sure you can now kind of see how stupid it was for the government to make everyone use energy efficient LEDS. They may save in energy costs but the health costs created by all this toxic, artificial light are going to be astronomical.
Up until a few decades ago, never in the history of life on Earth has this happened (getting blue light without red light). And since most people are exposed to way more artificial light than natural sunlight, you are getting blasted with this super strong and stimulatory unopposed blue light and uneven
spectrum of light on a daily and nightly basis.
You wouldn’t eat trans fats, high fructose corn syrup, food coloring's and other artificial foods all day long would you? Well, that’s basically what you’re doing with light. I want you to start thinking of light as nutrition. In the book, you’ll see how light can affect your mitochondria in the same way food does!

I can hear you thinking “but I thought fake and blue light was only bad at night?”
Fake light is horrendous at night; fake blue light is even more horrendous. It stops the secretion of MELATONIN by basically signaling your brain that it’s daytime. Melatonin is needed for sleep and cell regeneration, immune system stimulation, antioxidant properties and free radical scavenging and chorno biological synchronization. Fake light at night makes your brain do daytime stuff when it should be doing nighttime stuff like resting and repairing.
But even getting this artificial blue light in your eyes during the day is bad too because the red light is missing to repair the damage the blue light is doing.
Living like this is poisoning your mitochondria which means they can’t power your body’s systems efficiently which means you will get some kind of disease faster.
SO how do you stop the madness and protect yourself?

Cut out the fake light.
Live as nature intended and built your body to live. Wake up with the sun and go to bed with the dark. That right there would solve so many health problems I can’t even……

Start wearing “sunglasses” at night (In the blue light diet or detox program you’ll learn why you should very rarely, if ever, wear sunglasses outside during the day).
You need to get a pair of “blue blockers”. These are special glasses that block many of the harmful wavelengths of light, specifically in the blue light range.

HOW TO REDUCE BLUE LIGHT FROM YOUR PHONE AT NIGHT
Phones are a huge source of blue light at night and circadian rhythm disruption especially since you stick the so close to your face. Most come with some sort of blue light blocking feature but don't work so well. I use nightshift mode on my iphone during the day. At night, I "REDSHIFT" my iphone. If you have an Android, reducing blue light at night is easier to do since you can just download an app. These methods will reduce much of the blue light but not eliminate it totally.
