Vitamin D Protects You From Coronavirus (Quick BIG TECH, BAN This Post!)

May 08, 2020

In this post, you are going to see with your own eyes that your Vitamin D level is one of the most important measures to concentrate on in order to protect yourself from suffering a bad outcome due to catching this dumb coronavirus.

Then I'm going to tell you how to properly prop up your vitamin d levels in case the virus comes back in the fall.

If you haven't read my other COVID19 articles, you can find them here. I guarantee they are well worth your time, will improve your overall health and you will learn things you never knew before. Please help me out and share them on your social media pages. I guarantee they will make you look good and smart :P

Now a quick note about the "Ban This Post" reference in the title of this article (skip ahead a few paragraphs if you just want the vitamin d stuff)....

The amount of censorship we are seeing from big tech companies like Youtube and the fake news really is amazing.

I'd never though it would get this bad.

When one of these fake news or big tech totalitarians deletes a video or blog post, it is a form of modern day book burning. From removal of posts on the benefits of UV light and the sun to banning and censoring the two doctors giving their opinion that temporarily went against WHO guidelines on youtube.

Whats behind it all?

These groups, the government, fake news and big tech, are using panic and censorship to ensure their power, politics and profit.

They are like the new American Nazi's. Congratulations guys lol.

Science is not a belief system as these nutjobs are treating it.

Science is messy and ever changing.

You allow dissent and then you prove that dissent wrong if you can. You want people to challenge your theories. THAT is what the scientific method is all about.

Never censor it. Censoring it means you can't defend your position or know you are promoting a lie.

The Great German physicist Max Planck said that "science advances one funeral at a time."

And if you are a scientist or doctor and you don't think light effects your health all I can say then is lets get on with it guys. Hurry up with those funerals...

Seriously.

I posted a well researched paper (on how UV light benefits your body) from the US National Institute of Health's pubmed website the other day and Facebook censored it and warned all of my followers that is went against their "community guidelines". They finally deleted the actual post from my Facebook page. Here's a pic one of my members sent me. When they shared my post it was tagged as a violation and deleted....

Absolutely insane and very new age nazi-like of Mark Zuckerberg and the Facebook team. Youtube and Twitter also have their modern day book burner issues.

If you'd like to see a comedian named JP Sears make all of this sound funny while getting the point across better than I can, watch his hilarious youtube video here when you get a chance before it gets banned.

We need new social media platforms. Ideally they'd vanish altogether. Maybe in another lifetime.

Ok.

Rant over.

Now let's get into vitamin d and covid19.

We already know that good vitamin d levels can protect against flu, colds and respiratory viruses.

Researchers and scientists have started noticing that the severity of Covid19 cases is looking like it depends on the LATITUDE at which the patient was infected.

The worst covid cases are in Northern latitudes.

What does latitude tell you?

Many things but strength of the sun is one of them. Amount, type and power of the UV light contained in the sun rays hitting you each day. Northern latitudes mean weaker sun and sometimes no uvb light (during the winter) which means you are making little to no vitamin d. This is the same for similar southern latitudes although their winters are during northern latitude summers. The people on the equator are the luckiest as they get the strong sun all year.

A handful of studies/reviews/papers have recently come out showing that Vitamin D levels link to having a good or bad outcome with covid19. These are independent papers researched by people who had a hunch. It is unlikely you will see Bill Gates, corporations or my government pay for any major research in this area because you can't sell the sun. So we are going to have to settle for the best information available some of which are strong associations.

Remember the following as you are reading.

Your Vitamin D level is a marker for how much sunlight you are getting in your life. Specifically UV-B light from the sun. Its also a marker for how healthy your mitochondria are...

It is probably impossible to get the right amount of vitamin D from food or pills. You may definitely be able to overdose though.

Plus when you think of pills, think of taking a pill as not doing the work but still getting paid for it. Many of the benefits you get from vitamin d are from the processes your body goes through by absorbing the sunlight and actually making the vitamin d. Vitamin D made by the sun is sulfated whereas a pill is unsulfated.

Among other things like the production of 100's of bioactive metabolites, sulfated vitamin d synthesized from cholesterol and sun hitting your skin makes Vitamin D water soluble to travel in the blood and enter tissues to be converted to the active version of Vitamin D. The unsulfated form is not water soluble and requires LDL for transportation. Dr David Grimes (Vitamin D Cholesterol ans the Importance of the Sun) as well as Dr Holick and Dr Weil have a good book on this called The Vitamin D Solution.

Dr William Grant wrote what is probably my favorite book on Vitamin D, the Sun and how sunlight effects your health. It's called "Embrace The Sun".

If you are severely low in vitamin d, it is fine to temporarily supplement but work on getting vitamin d the natural way which is mostly from sunlight (which even Harvard Medical Schools agrees with) and a little more from natural foods in your diet.

Finally, understand it is well established that....

"Scientists have found that vitamin D is crucial to activating our immune defenses and that without sufficient intake of the vitamin - the killer cells of the immune system -- T cells -- will not be able to react to and fight off serious infections in the body. The research team found that T cells first search for vitamin D in order to activate and if they cannot find enough of it will not complete the activation process."

Here we go...

In this paper, they looked at the Vitamin D status of 212 patients who had been hospitalized with mild to severe corona disease.

"Serum 25(OH)D level (vitamin d level) was lowest in critical covid cases, but highest in mild cases.....The results suggest that an increase in serum 25(OH)D level in the body could either improve clinical outcomes or mitigate worst (severe to critical) outcomes, while a decrease in serum 25(OH)D level in the body could worsen clinical outcomes of COVID-2019 patients"

In other words, you want your Vitamin D level low-normal to high (above 27 ng/ml or 68 nmol/L) if you don't want to end up in the hospital due to catching coronavirus. I personally think above 30ng is the bottom. An optimal vitamin d level is much higher than that so shoot for the star and aim higher.

Here's another way to look at the same chart from above...

In this second review, we discover that Vitamin D insufficiency or VDI is prevalent in SEVERE covid-19 outcomes.

The above paper shows 20 COVID-19 patients of which 65.0% required ICU admission. Vitamin D insufficiency prevalence found in ICU patients was 84.6%, vs. only 57.1% in floor patients. Strikingly, 100% of ICU patients less than 75 years old had VDI or vitamin d insufficiency.

How's your vitamin d level?

The less vitamin d you have the worse your outcome with corona will probably be.

Don't worry if its bad. I'm gonna show you how to make it better below.

In the next paper, we see 780 covid-19 cases and find "below normal Vitamin D levels were associated with increasing odds of death. When controlling for age, sex, and comorbidity, Vitamin D status is strongly associated with COVID-19 mortality outcome of cases."

The risk of death from coronavirus goes way up when your vitamin d levels are way low.

I know what you're thinking...

This chart doesn't adjust for age. Older people tend to have lower vitamin d levels because of thin skin and not getting outside for as long as younger people.

Well here are those numbers....

Not as bad but still bad. Around TEN TIMES the risk of death from covid19 with a deficient vitamin d level.

In this next paper looking at 176 elderly covid19 patients over 60 years old we see "Majority of subjects classified as severe had 25(OH)D level below 30 ng/ml. "

In this rapid response letter from a group of researchers and doctors to the British Medical Journal we see them asking for urgent research into covid19 and vitamin d...

"Recognition (subject to proof by research), that vitamin D deficiency contributes to COVID-19 infection, progression, severity and mortality would demand policy rethinking on: the seasonality of COVID-19,[43] outdoor access, motivation for physical exercise, food fortification, supplementation, clinical treatment, and provision of free vitamin D supplements to institutions, front-line health and care workers. Sensible (according to latitude and weather) sun exposure is free, available to all and quickly improves vitamin D status, but is inhibited by lock-down.

Alipio’s results, viewed in the context of earlier recent vitamin D and COVID-19 publications,[2 9] must now lead to urgent research (Brown)."

Read the first line below. "COVID-19 ’ICU’ risk – 20-fold greater in the Vitamin D Deficient."

Here's a neat paper headed by PHD William Grant, the author of the fantastic book Embrace The Sun, that shows how vitamin d levels reduce the risk of microbial infections, seasonal influenza as well as Coronavirus deaths.

And here's a neat paper on Vitamin D preventing COVID organ damage....

I think by now you get the point, right?

Here are a few more papers posted without comment. Just click on the picture to read the paper.

I mean....

I can go on and on with this.

The evidence is building and becoming overwhelming.

Your vitamin d level is a pretty solid indicator of not only your overall health, but also how well you will do if you catch corona.

Sunlight and all its wavelengths including UV LIGHT is good for you and bad for coronavirus.

And keep in mind it is not just your vitamin d level, but the PROCESS of making vitamin d and being exposed to the sun in general that lead to your body being able to kick some corona ass.

Sunlight does so much more than just make vitamin d when it hits your skin. It makes hundreds of beneficial photochemicals, it turns on health promoting genes, regulates and optimizes hormones, it powers your mitochondria, triggers the release of blood pressure lowering nitric oxide and acts like a calcium channel blocker, suppresses adaptive immunity which controls cytokine storms and increases innate immunity which decreases the viral infection of cells at ACE2 receptors and it is the major signal for your body's master clock, the SCN, which regulates your circadian rhythm and all cells in your body.

Now for the bad news....

The majority of Americans are probably deficient in vitamin d.

And that means they are deficient in sunlight too.

Do you know your vitamin d numbers?

If not, no big deal.

Just assume you are low (unless you are going to supplement).

The process of upping your vitamin d levels will make you healthier even if you already have enough D in your tank.

The even better news is that we are already in to May and with the stronger sun this Coronavirus seems to be dying down.

IF it does reemerge in the Fall, you have plenty of time to build up your vitamin D levels.

In fact, getting sun and building your vitamin d levels this summer is probably the smartest thing you can do to fight covid-19.

First of all, know your levels and GET TESTED! Life Extension is having a good sale on all kinds of blood testing right now including vitamin D.

Here's a quick primer on how to generate vitamin d...

1) VITAMIN D PILLS - Remember what I said earlier. One of my favorite doctors likes to say "taking vitamin d supplements is like having someone do your push ups for you." I would say do this temporarily if your vitamin d levels are severely low. 2,000 to 5,000 IU of vitamin D3 daily seems to be the spot but coordinate with your doctor. Do not make popping a d pill a life long habit. If you do supplement you should think about adding some vitamin k2 and magnesium into the mix as well. Proper magnesium levels seem to help with optimizing vitamin d levels.

2) FOOD - Vitamin D is found in food and I would think getting it from food that comes from nature would be better getting it from a pill made in a factory. Seafood is one of the best sources and it has the added benefit of DHA which helps to power your body's master clock, the SCN. Wild sardines, salmon, oysters. Good stuff. Mushrooms like Shiitake and cod liver oil are also a good source of food based vitamin d.

3) THE SUN - The best way to build up your vitamin d storage is by getting SUNLIGHT. But not just any sunlight. Your dermatologist won't tell you this because they probably don't know but UV light is not always the same strength in sunlight and sometimes the specific wavelengths in UV light, called UVB, that make vitamin d are not even present in sunlight!

You remember that picture of the United States at the beginning of this article, UVB light vanishes in the winter months in Northern latitudes. So you can't make any vitamin D in the winter. UVB light is also not present almost anywhere in early mornings or late afternoons. So you can't really make vitamin D at those times either.

You want to know your skin type on the Fitzpatrick scale (a lower number means you have to take baby steps when building Vitamin D from the sun) and be well hydrated.

Ok this is getting complicated, is there an app that will just tell me what time to go outside in my exact location to make the most amount of vitamin d from the sun?

Yes there is and that app is free.

The app is called "Dminder".

Download it by searching "dminder" in your app store. Or visit the website here http://dminder.ontometrics.com/

Once you turn it on, the app determines your location and calculates the best times for you to get sun in order to make the most amount of vitamin d. It also estimates the amount of vitamin d you are making each minute and estimates the time you can stay in the sun until you sunburn. Super easy to use and you can't beat free.

3) SPERTI Vitamin D Lamp -  IF you can't get outside for some reason (like you're in the hospital) or you are in an area of the world that your Dminder app tells you is not getting UVB light at the moment (for instance it is winter in Chicago), you can get UVB light artificially from a lamp. This lamp is very easy to use, their recommendations are for about 5 minutes every other day. Sperti studies show that this can increase or maintain your vitamin d levels. Here's a video of me showing you how the lamp works. If you do choose to buy it, use the secret code "bluelight" at checkout for an extra 11% discount.

 4) EMR RED LIGHT THERAPY - When I use my Sperti lamp, I always use it outside or use it at the same time I have my EMR red light on. Why? Because you never are exposed to JUST uv light in nature. The sun contains many wavelengths of light which all balance each other out. Much of the reason why UV light gets a bad reputation is because many of the studies were done in labs blasting high doses of nothing but uv light.

Red light counters some of the damage that UV light can/may do to you. Below we see treatment with a red light before exposure to UV light. On the left you see "sunburn" with red light treatment and on the right you see skin blasted with just uv light.

The thing about the Sperti vitamin lamp is that you only use it 5 minutes every other day which isn't enough time to make you red but I like to use the EMR right light therapy machine at the same time anyway as red and infrared light is absorbed by cytochrome c oxidase in the electron transport chain of my mitochondria and helps run the show better. It helps to power your body.

There is even some evidence that red and infrared light can increase the amount of vitamin D you make kind of by improving the machinery used to make Vitamin d in your body. This would make sense as VDR receptors are located in the electron transport chain of your mitochondria.

If you want to check out the EMR machines and get a good discount, use this secret code at checkout "bluelight" and this link http://www.bluelightdetox.com/emr

Here's my EMR FireStorm in action ( I turn it on when I use my Sperti Vitamin d lamp or I will also use it about 10 minutes every other day....)

Finally I'd like to leave you with something that made me very happy to see...

In the picture below, you see smart doctors and nurses at Barking Havering and Redbridge University Hospital in the United Kingdom wheeling some of their sickest covid19 patients out into the sun!

These smart doctors and nurses get it.

Now its time for you to get it....
