HEALTH ALERT: REPLACE YOUR FISH OIL WITH THIS....

fish oil supplements

LOTS of doctors tell you to take fish oil but what they neglect to tell you is how many of the newer studies on fish oil show no benefits, or even worse, harm when taking fish oil consistently.

The Omega 3 Fatty Acids in fish oil are huge for anti-inflammation, better cholesterol numbers and are food for your quantum and circadian machinery. Yes, they help your brain correctly process light which helps keep all your systems on track and operating more efficiently.

You all should know your Omega 6-3 fatty acid ratio in your blood. This ratio should be 4-1 or less but most of you are like 10-1 or higher which means you are getting way too much Omega 6 oils and not enough Omega 3 oils and therefore are highly inflamed. Two of my favorite ways to easily test all of the omega 3 content in your body are....

You can test for this ratio yourself using the Function Health app here. I use it and it is awesome. In addition to all the important Omega 3 labs, you get 100 of the most important blood labs and tests on an app you have access to 24/7. Tests your current doctor has zero clue about but are still very important.

The other way is a simple test you do from your own home. Its called the Omega 3 Index Complete Test from OmegaQuant and you can check it out here. This tests tests your blood for EVERYTHING Omega 3 related. It is a complete fatty acid profile test that measures all the fatty acids in the blood, and reports levels of all 24 fatty acids as well as the Omega-6:Omega-3 Ratio, AA:EPA Ratio and your Trans Fat Index.

When your Omega 6 to Omega Three ratio is out of balance, one of the worst things it leads to is increased all cause, cancer and cardiovascular mortality risk.

So start to know and track your ratio!!!!

Ok now...

The main problem with fish oil is that many of the fish oil products out there are already or easily go rancid by the time you pop them in your mouth.

Because of this rancidity, many studies show fish oil provides no benefits or even causes harm.

"Regular use of fish oil supplements might be a risk factor for atrial fibrillation and stroke among the general population..."

Because of these issues, I do not use fish oil or fish oil pills. Its too much of a roll of the dice.

What do I do?

I eat a ton of smaller seafood like anchovies, squid, sardines, shrimp and oysters.

This is the best thing to do if you can get it!

But yeah thats not doable for most people so I also take supplements.

The reason fish oil can go bad so fast is that it is ultra processed and it is stripped of the natural protections that keep it from going rancid. For example, the natural taurine in seafood protects against oxidation.

So I take something that is way less processed and more in its natural form.

I take freeze dried fish roe and oyster capsules.

Both are minimally processed and loaded with lots of good stuff, especially Omega 3's like EPA and DHA.

Fish roe (especially from salmon, herring and similar species) offers a highly bioavailable source of long chain omega 3 fatty acids that can serve as a superior alternative to conventional fish oil supplements prone to oxidation.

Unlike many standard omega 3 oil supplements, which deliver EPA and DHA primarily as triglycerides or ethyl esters that can oxidize during processing, storage and exposure to heat, light, and oxygen, fish roe naturally concentrates these fatty acids within a phospholipid matrix that is predominantly phosphatidylcholine. This form is better absorbed and incorporated into your cell membranes, with human studies on phospholipid rich herring roe showing improved plasma lipid profiles including reduced triglycerides and non esterified fatty acids, increased HDL cholesterol and better glycemic responses after short term supplementation.

Fish roe also supplies good amounts of DHA (often higher relative to EPA than in many fish oils), along with choline, protein, vitamin B12, vitamin D and other bioactives that support cardiovascular health, brain function, inflammation resolution through specialized pro resolving mediators and overall nutrient density.

The whole food or freeze dried matrix of roe further helps protect the delicate polyunsaturated fats compared with isolated oils, making it a more stable option for those seeking reliable omega 3 benefits without the oxidation concerns sometimes associated with traditional supplements.

Here are two options for you that I have tested and continue to use....

1) Natural Heart Doctor Wild Salmon Roe. The fish eggs from wild caught salmon put into a pill. Along with oysters, fish roe or eggs are basically the organs of the ocean meaning they are nutritional powerhouses. Loaded with the Omega 3's EPA and DHA. Way too many nutrients to list here, just take a look for yourself on their website here: http://www.bluelightdetox.com/salmonroe

2) Nutrimal Oyster Pure Freeze Dried Oyster Capsules. Oysters are one of Nature's best multivitamins and packed with Omega 3's. They also contain zinc, B12, copper, selenium and iodine. These oysters come from clean waters, are wild caught, tested for toxins, freeze dried then turned into a powder and added to capsules. You really cant taste them at all, no fishy taste.
